Prayer Request

I would like all of my prayer warrior friends to pray for Earl Wayne who was in a serious car wreck yesterday in the severe thunderstorms that roared through our area.

Earl Wayne is the younger brother of a friend of mine, Tamara, since 2nd grade. We all grew up together.

In this wreck, he was a single passenger in his truck and crashed head-on with an SUV of 6 people headed to where we live for a football game because we were playing them last night.

Earl Wayne's injuries consist of broken ribs, broken leg and swelling of the brain with fluid from a leak. The good news is that it hasn't increased or decreased overnight and he is stable but critical.

Two people have died from that vehicle...Mrs. Forrester had just retired in May as the high school secretary. She was out walking around after the crash but died in route to the hospital of internal injuries.

Her husband was driving and he is fine. The front seat passenger, Mr. Waddell died last night at the hospital from internal injuries. He was an elderly man who appeared to be fine also.

The man in the back seat behind the driver has a broken hip and the man behind the passenger was first considered fine but has integral injuries also.

The 16 year old that was in the 3rd seat is bruised but fine.

Please pray for the Waddell family, the Forrester family and for complete healing for all the other injuries passengers.

~Please Pray For My Husband and This Test~

Please say a prayer for my husband, Roger today and tomorrow. He is at home today away from the busyness of the office, studying for his big test tomorrow. I can't begin to express the magnitude of this test or it's depth plus what it means in his line of work. There are so many different dimensions to this test from chemistry to equations and stuff that is way over my head...actually, it makes my brain hurt to think about it! LOL!

I was visiting my friend, Beth at warmHart and she was talking about...why do we wait for things to get to that "point" before we stop and pray. My reply was that I was guilty of doing this very thing. I will fret, fuss and get so wrapped up in the problem that I forget that the answer is just a prayer away. I find myself praying for everyone else and their problems at times and let my own get lost in the busyness of life.

Lord, help me to run to you before I get caught up in the situation or problem. Help me to remember that you already know the situation and that you are just waiting for me to come to you as a child would their earthly father when they are in need. I thank you, Father, today that you see over the hills and around the curves in my life. I thank you that you not only care about the big things in my life but you also care about the small things that might go unnoticed by others...you see every little aspect of our lives.

Thank you, Father for going ahead of Roger tomorrow and for being right there with him while he is taking this test. I thank you for peace, confidence, a clear mind and that you will bring everything that he has studied so hard on...bring it back to his rememberance...clearly. We will give you all the praise and glory!

I won't be blogging or visiting much this week...it will be a short week for me. I have tons of work to do for my job, my housework is in dire need, laundry, must finish income taxes, get them to the accountant and pack for Ty and I to leave on Wednesday evening to enjoy time together during his Spring Break. I will miss you guys but, I'll be back :-)

Please Pray For Dr. Piece~Update

I received an update this morning from my friend who received a call from a close friend of the family this morning.

Rumors are flying that he died but he did not! He is so far from being out of the woods at this point and is still very critical. His daughter said that he was having a good day so far today.

Pnemonia has set in and they almost lost him on Friday, but Praise The Lord...he made it through and is still fighting. It was not his time to go and the Lord still has work to do with him and through him.

He is totally sedated because he is so agitated and in so much pain. The prognosis of his eye is still unclear at this point.

Please pray for him and his family! I can't imagine what he is going through with all that has happened to his body...the pain, the shock of it all and the recovery road ahead. There are more surgeries that lie ahead for Dr. Pierce. There is absolutely no way that I can begin to know or understand what his precious family is going through right now...not knowing from day to day if their husband/father will survive, the fear of returning to the house for sleep, clothes or to live again would be like.

The house has 24/7 security from the WM Police Department as does his office and the hospital. They still don't know (that I know of) if this was random or a targeted attack, who did it or better yet....WHY!

Thank you for your prayers from Dr. Pierce and his family. They need each and every one that you can carry to the throne room of God for them.

Urgent Prayer Request!

One of our local family physicians is in extremely critical condition this morning at The Med, our trauma center in Memphis, TN where he was airlifted.

Around 8 AM, he was going to his car...they don't know if he was at the car, opening the door of the car or had gotten in the car and started it when the car exploded. This happended in his driveway at his home.

He drives a Lexus hybrid. It is unknown at this time if it was a car bomb or something to do with the hybrid car itself. The local police are "hoping" it had something to do with the engine of this hybrid.

The ATF and FBI have been brought in to investigate the explosion.

This man is a wonderful, caring physician, Christian who is always doing things for his community.

Please pray for God's hand to be upon him and his precious family...wife and 2 children.

Update: Per a close family friend has said he will need a miracle because he is so severly burned.

We serve a God of miracles!

Good Morning Everyone!

I wanted to give you a brief update on Dorinda's sister's family this morning. I got a text from Dorinda last night (but didn't get it until this morning cause my phone was off and I was in the bed...not feeling good) stating they were taking Deanna into surgery to do a C-Section delivery around 10 PM. She said then that Tami (Dorinda's sister and Deanna's mom) was exhausted and very upset. She was emotionally, mentally and physically drained with all that was going on . She had to be at the hospital bright and early this morning with her husband, Ronnie who was having major surgery for oral cancer. It has been an emotional week for them.

The praise report is that Deanna and baby girl are doing great. Baby girl arrived here safely about 10:45 PM and they are both doing well this morning.

Prayer Request - Please pray for Ronnie and Tami today. He is facing major surgery for oral cancer...the second surgery since August '08. Please pray for strength, peace and for wisdom for the doctors treating Ronnie. As of a few minutes ago, 11 AM, Ronnie had not been taken back for surgery yet. I can only imagine the anxiousness that they are feeling right now, but God can pour out His peace that passes all understanding on them right now.

Dorinda asked me to tell everyone thank you so much for your prayers...we are blessed to have such wonderful bloggy friends, who are mighty prayer warriors!

Also, we requested prayer for Dorinda's daughter and son-in-law...Glenda and Brad. She just posted an update on her blog...Journey To Ever After...if you get time...go over and read it (haven't read it all yet) and see what God is doing in their lives.

P.S. Thank you to those who have been praying for me...I am feeling more like myself today than I have been all week. I was so tired, no brain functioning power, feeling like I was trying to get a cold and/or just sick. I had no energy or desire to blog or Facebook this week...gee, I must have been sick! It was all I could do to be an employee, wife and mother. I usually function on about 5 hours of sleep a night because I am blogging or Facebooking but this week, I was in bed asleep by 9:30 and Roger took Tyler to school 3 days so I could sleep a little longer...it paid off with sleep and prayers...I feel much better. I'm taking the rest of the week off from blogging and will hopefully, be back full force on Monday. I am going to read and comment this weekend but not post. Boy...I've missed you guys! Pray you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Prayer Request

Dorinda sent me an email this afternoon and ask me to send this to all the prayer warriors that I know...I don't know of any better place to start than with you guys! You have all been such a blessing to not only me, but Ashlyn, my uncle and my mom over the past few weeks and months. If I have ask you to pray...you pray! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You guys are so inspiring, encouraging and I love each one of you.

You will find below Dorinda's original prayer request in blue and my explanation in red...helping you understand a little bit better the desperate situations that they are in.

Pastor Rusty and Dorinda's Daughter and SIL: Moved to Washington DC a couple of months ago following God's calling in a different direction in their lives...they were pastors of a church in Huntsville, AR x 8 years. They lived in the inner city (close to church where Brad is training) and Glenda was homeschooling Macy (kindergarten). Macy is a very social child and therefore, missed having friends (not many children where they were living) and classmates. She needed to be in a school setting. They moved again... after much prayer...they moved to outside the city and were able to put Macy in a Christian school (God blessed them...no tuition) and the church that Brad is working/training under is planting a church in this area . Macy has flourished, love their new rent house. The problem is...they had to move out of their rent house in DC while under a lease. They are currently responsible for paying rent on two houses in DC plus a mortgage payment because the tenants in their house in Huntsville...moved out. They are on a one year work study program WITHOUT PAY for one year. They raised money and got some sponsors to help with living expenses, sold much of what they owned and trusting God to provide the rest...that didn't include a mortgage payment and extra rent on the 1st house. This money is coming from their money saved to be used throughout this year's living expenses in DC.

First of all- Brad and Glenda really need prayer. They are trying so hard to trust God. They moved because the landlord told them the house would be rented in a week. No problem. Don’t worry about it. Well, here it is almost a month later and $2200. Later.

Dorinda's sister...Tami...her husband had cancer of the tongue with surgical removal of the mass and part of his tongue back in August. The cancer is back in his tongue but a faster, more evasive kind this time. Ronnie and Tami have a younger daughter, Kaylee who is only 9-10 plus Tami has a daughter who is married and having her 1st child this week also.

Secondly – my sister and her family.
Ronnie’s cancer is back with a vengeance. The doc said it is the kind that wants to grow and move. They are doing a rush surgery – massive stuff- on Friday to remove tumor, remove lots of teeth – put in ports for chemo and feeding tube in stomach. Then he will also start radiation asap.
For Tammie- her daughter is being induced on Thursday. Tammie is just beside herself. She wants so bad to be with Deanna when she goes home etc. But Ronnie will need her also. I know it will all work out and she does too – but she just hates to miss this time with Deanna. Something you can never make up….

Please pray for God's peace, guidance and wisdom in these situations concerning my family.

P. S. Sorry that I haven't been around the past few days but I am covered up at work, home and with my family. I am still trying to find balance. I have decided that I will post an entry on the days that I have the time (sometimes...6 days a week and others might be 2-3) and something on my heart and the days that I am needed by my family will be the days that I have to put them before my blog. It is hard because I love blogging and staying in touch with everyone...but for me, there isn't enough time in the day. I have been running on about 5 hours of sleep for months...I am exhausted. So, if I don't read and comment on your blogs everyday...I'm sorry but you are all on my hearts and in my prayers. I have a list of the prayer request that you have asked me to remember...typed, laminated (wipe off marker works great to add more) and tied with a pretty bow on the lamp that sits on my desk...I see it all day long and call the names out many times a day. SO...I HAVEN'T FORGOT YOU!

Prayer Request~Mother

Please pray for my mother. She called me today around 1 PM and said that she fell out the back door on the ice. She said she thought that she had broken her left hip.

She has already had a hip replacement x 2 on her right hip years ago. I am thankful that it wasn't the right hip.

I have just run home from the hospital to get my clothes and head back to spend the night with her. It is definitely broken...just below the ball. We are waiting for them to get in touch with her doctor to know when they will do surgery. I am guessing tomorrow.

She is 82 years old and very, very active. She still does her own yard work, rakes leaves and picks up gallons and gallons of pecans. She still drives where ever she wants to go...long distances too.

Please pray that she will make a full recovery.

The wonderful thing is that she is not in any pain...unless, they are moving her around.

She said tonight that God had been so good to her for so many years and this happened for a reason...she didn't know what it was but there was a reason and purpose.

Heavy Hearts Again For Our Family~Prayer Request

Please lift my Uncle Richard's family and our entire family up in your prayers. He is my daddy's brother (looks just like him) and he is 88 years old...they will be taking him home from the hospital within the week or so on Hospice to go to be with his Heavenly Father.

It is so hard to believe this is happening because I just saw him, talked to him and he looked great at my cousin's funeral in October. He has been on dialysis for several years, survived being hit by a tornado...see story here and now, he is going to die within a couple of weeks. That is, without a miracle from God.

He has been on dialysis for several years and that was where he was coming from the day that his truck (with him in it) was hit by the tornado, was thrown into a muddy field and he survived. Granted, he was in bad shape and several times, he was expected to make it through the night, but by the grace of God...he did.

The past couple of months, he has been having problems with the "port, line or whatever it is called" where they give him his dialysis treatment through. It has been developing blood clots at the site, they would move it to another location and it would happen again. The problem is now that there is no where else to move it to. He developed an infection at the last permanent site...the staph has gotten into his bloodstream and spread throughout his body. He is not responding to the antibiotics either. I haven't talked to my cousins but this is the information that was given to me. I hope the specifics listed here are accurate or close to it, I do know the overall plan is correct.

They put the dialysis line in a temporary site that could only stay there a couple of weeks, it has been there a week already. There is not another place to move it to now.

The doctors have told them that there isn't anything else that they can do for him. They are waiting on the Hospice to get set up, medication and anything else needed for him to go home. He will probably have dialysis for up to another week and then...no more.

The doctors have told the family that it would be a very peace death for him. He would sleep more and more, then one day, he will go to sleep and not wake up. Uncle Richard's wishes are to die at home and his family are going to honor those wishes. He will be surrounded by his family...his wife, children, grandchildren and probably his great-grandchildren during his last days.

Please pray for him and for his family during this difficult time. It could be a couple of weeks before he succumbs to death.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST!

Please prayer for Ashlyn...the 13 year old daughter of our dear friends, Byron and Melanie.

I received a text message just now from Dorinda asking for everyone to pray for her. She is in our local children's hospital with infectious spinal fluid and it is now around her brain. She is conscious but in a lot of pain. Ashlyn has been quarantined, but parents can go in and out with extreme caution and washing hands thoroughly.

This is the only details that I have at this time and I will pass on any further ones that I receive. I don't know but this sounds very serious and this child is in desparate need of our prayers.

Please lift Ashlyn and her family (her younger brother, Haston too) up in prayer today and in the days to come. Please add her to your prayer list at your church, your blog and anyone else who is a prayer warrior. If this was my child...I would want everyone possible on their knees in prayer for her.

Urgent Prayer Request

Good Morning!

For those of you who have read my entry from last night...I'm feeling better today but, there is no time for stress attacks or pity parties...there are other people who are hurting and have bigger problems than mine.

Roger received this email from one of his co-workers, Kenneth, who is Josie's grandfather. She is in desperate need of our prayers. She needs healing in her body and for God to intervene in her body rejecting her lung transplant. Please pray for her but also for her family as they all go through this trying time together.

Howdy all,
Pam and I just got back from St. Louis. Just want to give an update on Josie.

My understanding is that from September to now, Josie has lost 50% of her lung function. This is due to what they call Humeral Rejection. There are several types of rejection, and this one usually strikes right after the transplant. The docs have no clue as to why after two years this has started. This rejection is natural, as it is doing what the Lord intended it to do. It has sent anti-bodies in to attack the foreign body. Which just happens to be the lungs..

What the docs have done and are proceeding to do is what they call Plasmapheresis. They are pumping the blood out of Josie, extracting the platelets with (hopefully) the anti-bodies, and putting it back in. As of today they were going with five to seven treatments. One every other day, giving the body time to produce more blood in between time. So she will be in at least another 14 days. At the end of this they will do lab work on the blood to see what the anti-bodies are up to.

Her number is ***-***-****. And with most teens she has fast fingers. And loves to use 'em. Please text as often as you can. And please continue to pray. She just wants to come home.

For the most part she is in good spirits. She is hurting some still after surgery this morning to install the lines in her veins for this procedure.

Heather is doing well. She is one strong cookie. But when she breaks, it will be ugly.

Holly, Heidi, Haley and Pam are planning to go up this weekend. Pray for traveling grace.
