~What I Learned This Week~

Another week of Life's Lessons 101! I've learned/re-learned...or just got a refresher course several things this week...they are:

  • No matter what life throws at you...you can make it if you are holding the right hand of God.
  • Being in charge of the registration of a benefit golf tournament can be challenging but fun.
  • After listening to the mother of a 12 year old, an active patient of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, speak to our son's Brother's of JDC/DCA meeting last night...it made me realize that I unknowingly take my children's health fore granted sometimes.
  • My son-in-law loves his father-in-law's BBQ ribs and would hopefully, work for them:)
  • He's an electrician and I want new lighting in my kitchen. He gave me ideas and advice...I wonder if he knew that I was planning on him fulfilling those ideas for me? *blush*
  • I love getting together with our family, even without a holiday to celebrate.
  • I sure missed having Brandon here Easter with all the other children.
  • He will be here this weekend...spend the night Saturday, go to church with us on Sunday, go eat dinner with his Nanny and then back home to work that afternoon. It will be a rushed time but a great time.
  • Global warming or not...this has been the craziest weather year that I've ever seen!
  • I love life, my family, my church, my friends, my sweet bloggy sisters and living!

Have a blessed Tuesday, my friends!

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

  1. Hello! I can also vouch for the crazy weather we've had... especially since I'm looking out my window at the snow. :) And I agree about taking good health for granted. Sometimes I read others' blogs about their sick children and I'm just overcome with a mix of emotions.

Your blog is very encouraging! Have a great day!

  4. Jen,

Here are my life lessons I took away this week.

    1. I need to consistently keep up with my comments on my blogs I am following because I never know when I make a difference in someones life.

    2. Find time to do small things or random acts of kindness for others. I find that simply bringing the shopping carts back to their stalls, makes the job for the person who has to corral all those much easier, especially if the weather is bad.

    3. Appreciate my husband everyday and let him know how much the smallest things he does for us and our family mean. He leaves me notes since he has to leave so early each morning.

    4. Tell my daughters that not only I love them, but find something that they do throughout the day and praise them for it. It changes their lives and puts a smile on their faces.

    5. Find solitude in my mornings to spend time with the Lord, reading emails of devotions and just enjoy how special the day is the God has created for me.

    6. Find a new blog to add to my followers, especially a new one with a few followers and encourage them to continue on adding posts!

    7. Remember each day that whatever trials life brings my way, it was nothing compared to what He suffered for my sins. I can take it and deal with it!

Thanks for making me stop and think about what I took away from this week. You, once again, have blessed my day.

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  10. It's in the simple pleasures of life that we find comfort in the midst of the storm.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was your Thankful Thursday post!

Keep clinging to the hem of His garment.

  11. What a great list! Gotta love those ribs. Yummy!

Thanks for your kind words and encouragement. Seven years is about how long we've been dealing with our situation. I would love to see a change, I just don't see that happening any time soon. But I that with God all things are possible. So I will keep believing. Thank you for the great reminder! You are special to me too my friend!

  12. Hi Jennifer,
Just had to leave a shout-out from another fellow Arkansan. Wacko weather. Did the storms affect you last week?
This post resonated with me. I moved here from CA 3 years ago. It is hard to be away from family on Easter, and so sweet when they are with you. And the church? YES! I love my church. On Sunday, I got all choked up looking around at everyone during the service. These dear people have become such an important part of my life.
I hope your time with Brandon this weekend is really special. =)
