Colossians 1:15-20
(15) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
(16) For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.
(17) He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
(18) And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
(19)For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, (20)and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
I am so thankful today that God has ALL THINGS under His control. Regardless, of what the circumstances appear to be, what the world says or accepts, what my feelings and emotions keep trying to tell me...it doesn't matter because God has all things under his control.
I have had a rough couple of days lately with a range of emotions. Those emotions have ranged from the excitement and joy of the CHRISTmas season that we are entering to the heavy heart for a child who isn't living for the Lord at this time.
Vs. 16...for by Him...ALL THINGS were created...both visible and invisible...on this earth and in the spirit realm. ALL THINGS were created by Him and FOR Him.
Vs. 17 He is before ALL THINGS and in Him ALL THINGS hold together! That is enough to make me shout! He is the one that holds me together in the midst of the uncertainty when everything within me wants to fall apart.
Vs. 19 In Him...everything has it proper place...ALL THINGS
I love how The Message puts it~
Vs. 16,17
For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels--everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. (17) He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment.
Vs. 19 So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding.
I can rest in Him today, tonight and in all my tomorrows...knowing that He is in control of ALL THINGS in my life, in this world and in all that He has created. That means...EVERYTHING!

REST - thats what we all seem to be needing these days especially with all of the hustle and bustle and the many "to do" things on our list but really resting in Him is all we really need. Jenn, my prayer is that you will find rest and peace in knowing that God has Brandon in the palm of His hand. As much as your momma's heart grieves for his salvation - how much more is our heavenly Father grieved? -love ya. Happy TT!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you have had a ruff few days. So kids just are a hand full. But hey turn out for the good. All you can do is love them and hope they will listen to your guidance. With my youngest it took till adulthood for her to learn the hard way. Now she has told me thank you for putting her in a drug rehab and trying so hard to save her as a teen. I have learned through trial and error. They can not be saved till they want it for them self.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing isn't it...All things.
ReplyDeleteMay your Thursday be blessed!
it's nice to know that God is in control no matter how ugly our situation is right now. thank you for sharing this very inspiring post. God bless you, jennifer. ♥
ReplyDeleteJennifer,
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful today that God has ALL THINGS under His control. ...
Amen. Great post. thank you. Have a wonderful TT.
Beautiful post, Jenn. God does hold us together. Even when it feels like we're falling apart, He holds us together. And He holds your son's heart and his life in His hands. He won't let go and He won't give up on him. He is the Lover of our soul, and He will pursue us because He thinks we are worth pursuing. Continued prayers for your precious son, He is precious to God.
ReplyDelete(I rejoice with you that you are going to be able to reach that financial goal. It is so exciting to be able to get there. God has blessed us so much, in so many ways. He has met need, after need, after need. Oh my goodness, He really does provide for us, just as He promised!)
It is comforting to know God is in control of everything. Thank you for sharing this. Happy TT!
ReplyDelete*hugs* Amen to that! Isn't it great to know He has everything in His hands? It's hard sometimes to just rest and be still when circumstances aren't so restful. It's great you can praise Him through it!
ReplyDeleteHi there sis, Thanks for sharing. God truly is in control of everything! Continue to be a good mom, you will reap the answers of your prayers regarding your son. Just remember, "Is there anything too hard for the Lord?" God Bless you always!
ReplyDeleteJust what my heart needed to hear today. Thank you for sharing your thankful heart sweet sisters.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Lyndy
Oh, that sweet rest of trusting in Him to handle our circumstances! We can find joy amidst the struggles in the reminder you have posted today. I love that Scripture, and the music playing on your blog is beautiful! Just makes me feel so at peace! Happy Thankful Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain as I, too, have a child not living for the Lord. It is an ache that abates a bit with prayer but never goes away. It is always good to remind ourselves that God has every single thing under control and He is Sovereign. He loves my son more than I do and doesn't want Him lost. What better advocate can we have? May He continue to show His glory to you and shine His face on your child to the point where He can't be ignored. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteGod really is wonderful God always there for us. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI have had to really trust in the Truth that God has ALL things under his feet, especially with regard to the outcome of the election. I have to make a deliberate choice to NOT worry, but to trust God.
ReplyDeleteI'm SO thankful nothing is too difficult for him. I know you are too.
Have a lovely day,
Patti
Just stopped by to say thanks for the visit. I just noticed we are neighbors. I am in Missouri. I love Arkansas. I went to Eureka Springs one year and the views are amazing.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

All I can say to that is AMEN!! A wonderful post, very encouraging and comforting words from the scriptures... so glad that the Lord is ministering to you thru His Word!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
GREAT thankful post. All things are under His control. I can rest in that too.
ReplyDeletePeace to you during this time of celebrating Jesus. I'm sorry you have a heavy heart. May God comfort you.
I love your scripture today! You are so right, GOD has all things under HIS control. I have a brother and a nephew who have traveled down the wrong road and I have prayed many prayers for them. They must like where they are because they have been there for years. I know HE has a plan they will have to make the right choices. My sister worries herself sick about her son. We have to pray and pray and pray and NEVER give up on them. I have said a prayer for you and your son. Thanks for sharing your heart! Happy TT!
ReplyDeleteAMEN! I am in complete agreement with you. I am so thankful that He has all things under His control. May the Lord comfort you over the next few days and give you rest for your soul.
ReplyDeleteTake care my friend!
Have a great Friday!
Praying for God to sweetly bless you dear one.
