Pastor Rusty proposed this question to us yesterday...
If you knew that Jesus would return for His church on Tuesday at noon...would you live your life any differently?
Think about that!
What would you do that you aren't doing now?
What are you doing now that you would stop doing?
For me...I would knock down the doors of my loved ones and friends who don't know Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Savior.
I would tell them again how much Jesus loves them, how He died on a rugged cross for them, their sins, their shame, their past, their present and their future.
I would tell them that He doesn't want to leave any of them behind when He returns for His children.
I would tell them that I don't want to spend eternity without them in heaven.
I would remind them of their loved ones who has gone on before them and remind them that if they ever wanted to see them again...they would have to give their heart and lives to Jesus Christ.
I would refuse to leave until that came to know the Lord personally.
There are many other things that I would do such as pray more for the lost, lonely and hurting that God would soften their hearts quickly.
I would spend more time in the Word than I do now.
There wouldn't be anything more important than doing His work in such a short period of time...not work, children, husband, cleaning house, sports...NOTHING!
So, why don't I do that now? We are living in the last days and His return is very, very near!
What would you do differently?
WHY WAIT UNTIL WE THINK WE ARE OUT OF TIME TO ACT...LET'S ACT NOW!
Have a wonderfully blessed day!

I really do try to be aware of times the Lord is giving me an opportunity to speak to someone about Him. I try to never be to busy to stop and talk. Very thought provoking my friend.

Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI think my answer would fall along those same lines as yours. I don't do those things now, because if I was that aggressive, I would lose the hope of getting that opportunity to talk with them.
I keep praying for opportunities and open doors but I fear too many people have been pushed out of the salvation door for the sake of being beaten over the head if they fail to make that decision today or receive the message that states well you'll go to hell.
I save my judgements for God and simply ask that He continue to guide me on whatever path He chooses to place before me. I believe he understands compassion and heart felt tenderness for so many lost souls and for me the reason is that I am doing what He would want.
I am just not sure where the timing is. I guess in knowing for sure He was coming back would put urgency in my voice but I am not sure just how many souls I could help through that method. I just think they would walk away shaking their heads.
Great thought, for me though.

Thanks for sharing this my friend, love you.
ReplyDeleteI'd quit my job, eat ice cream and make my family sit with me, waiting. It would be great.
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome. I better get busy.
ReplyDeleteOh what a great post! May we never forget that we are living in the last days and need to make the most of every opportunity. Thank you for that great reminder!
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing well my friend! I am trying to catch up on some blog reading this morning. I have missed you and your great words of wisdom!
Thoughts and ideas are flooding through my tiny brain. However, (and I chuckle as I type this) my FRIST thoughtas I was reading this was... better get my house clean! lol
ReplyDeleteAnyway... I am blessed by saying most of my family are saved and I am truly thankful for this. Although, there are others around me that need the Lord, as well.
I wonder what happens after I get to heaven.
ReplyDeleteWill Jesus be disappointed in me that I want to see Joshua before Him???
What do you all think?
