Friday Funnies

Congratulations to Jerralea ( Jerri) at Jerri's Journey as the winner of the Book of Prayer by Stormie Omartian for my 250th post drawing. Check out her blog when you get a minute...precious heart who loves the Lord.

Yeah...it's Friday!!! Ok, this is funny but yet...carries a very powerful message! Hope you enjoy!

A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though, he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration, as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup.

As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit the car with her hands up.

He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed and placed in a holding cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting office was waiting with her personal effects.

He said "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you and cussing a blue streak at him." "I noticed the "What Would Jesus Do" bumper sticker, the "Choose Life" license plate holder, the "Follow Me to Sunday School" bumper sticker and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk, naturally...

"I assumed you had stolen the car"!!!!

Does your advertisement (behavior) match your testimony?

  4. THIS IS INDEED A POWERFUL MESSAGE!!!

My husband and I were going to dinner a while back and we drove into traffic that was created by a car accident. All three lanes sat for a long time. People became impatient blowing horns, pressing their vehicles in front of each other as if they could get out of the traffic jam any sooner than anyone else.

Well, all of sudden a slight opening came between two vehicles and a middle aged woman jumped into that lane but in doing so she cut off a person and that person had to hit their break and then blew their horn.

My hubby and I could see the whole thing. She (the woman who cut off the other person) began putting up her finger and yelling out of her window at the person she cut off. I could not believe the language she was using. It was raw! As soon as her vehicle was completely in the lane we could see the back side of her car had the Christian fish and a rather large sign that said, "JESUS SAVES".

I said to my husband let's pray for her because her attitude and actions IS DAMAGING her witness of Christ.

How often do we damage our own witness of the Lord in losing our temper, snapping at someone, rolling eyes or being impatient or behaving in other ways that are not Christ like. Let us pray for each other NOT to damage our witness of Christ.

Great teaching for today my sweet Friend. Thank you for sharing this and for allowing me to share with you. Love you much.

  10. So true... I always try to remember that people are watching us even when we don't realize it. And we may be all of Christ some people ever see!

  12. Oh wow! Too funny, but scary too. Do you know I actually have friends who won't put a fish on the back of their vehicles because they want to speed. Mercy!

  17. I love the funny story. Our pastor is always reminding us that other people are watching us and our testimony. I pray that they will always see Christ in me.
In response to your note to me, Jennifer...don't ever give up praying for your son. The enemy delights in making us feel like we are failures and that our prayers are going nowhere. We are unaware of what is happening right now in the spiritual fight for his soul...but I am absolutely certain that God's power will win over satan!
You are a blessing to not only me, but to many many other readers. God has given you a ministry of encouragement and inspiration.
    Love and prayers, Carolyn
