I just received this from my dear friend, Jennifer M. and I asked her if I could post it. I needed this so much this morning. In all honesty, I am struggling with the outcome of this election. I know that God is in control, this didn't catch Him by surprise and He has a plan...but my stomach isn't listening. This brought about a peace in my spirit that I needed. May it do the same for you.
Dear Friends,
For months now, my email Inbox has been besieged by nearly hysterical warnings about what will happen if Barack Obama becomes President. I have been encouraged to be worried, afraid, concerned, prepared for disaster, and a whole host of other maladies if this happens. I do not deny the importance of the outcome of this election, but it seems to me that we need a dose of perspective. So here, on this post-election day, I would like to start my own email concerning this election.

It's a "True/False" test. I'd like for all of us to take it. Feel free to email it on to whomever:

Please copy this to your blog and/or email it to you friends...so many of us need to be reminded today that our hope is not in man...BUT....IN HIM AND HIM ALONE. Please pass it on!!!
Wow, this was good.
ReplyDeleteAmen! God is God no matter who is the President of us USA! :)
ReplyDeleteGood post! God is our reigning King!
ReplyDeleteJennifer,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the award!
Took your test and I passed with straight A's. :) My heart grieved a bit this morning but know I ready to stand for God's kingdom and pray for our new President.
Love it. I am already tired of hearing people whine and complain about Obama... the truth of it is that we are in the last days and it is time for Christians to take their stand and stop complaining. God is in control...I have a son overseas - I can't depend on anything except for His divine intervention. Love ya girl. Good job of sharing this test....
ReplyDeleteI'm with you there, girl. I was devastated by the election results...even in my own state I might add. I live in Idaho, which has been called the most Republican state. Our entire Washington delegation (we only have 2 Congressmen) is Republican, as is our governor and 2/3 of our state house. But as of yesterday, I live in a blue district!!! The congressman for my district is a VERY conservative evangelical man. And he was one of the few who refused to over-ride President bush's veto of the SCHIP bill a few months ago. Although I was thrilled with his refusal to over-ride the veto (because I don't want more government through more programs, even insurance), much of our state was not thrilled...and now he is gone. So, not only am I struggling with Sen. Obama, I'm struggling with having a congressman that doesn't think the way I do. I've never even had to worry about contacting my congressman, for I always knew he would vote as I wanted him to...not anymore. And it upsets me.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I DO realize that the Lord Jesus is still on the throne. He still reigns. And he is the one who allowed Barack Obama to be elected. We have to trust Him....and that is easier said than done sometimes, isn't it?
Blessings,
Patti
I have always known God was in control-yesterday, today and tomorrow. Nothing happens without His permisson and I truly trust His wisdom which is much greater than mans. I hope all who now stand in fear because Obama is President will find peace.
ReplyDeleteI loved this. IT's so true isn't it. My God is still in control no matter what. Great reminder!
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
