Ok...here are the pictures that I promised yesterday. If you missed the story behind the redecorating our bedroom...click here.
Roger loves the way that it turned out and so do I. We are in the process of repainting our bathroom in a much lighter shade of blue now.
This was the wall color before I painted. Our other bedding was burgundy, gold, taupe and a little bit of dark brown. AKA...the dungeon...the cave. I loved it for many years but the walls were starting to close in on me (good excuse to redecorate...shhhh....don't tell Roger).
This is the finished project. I still need chocolate brown drapes and want new lamps (that will come later) but for now...I have to STOP spending. :-)
I reused much of what I already had but bought the 4 small pictures and the large abstract painting...all 55% off, of course.
It feels so much bigger, open, airy..."spa like". It is very, very refreshing! Can you tell that I love the way that it turned out? I do!!!
Have a wonderfully blessed day!
I love the new look, Jennifer!!! You have given me inspiration...amazing what a coat of paint can do! We have the 'cave' look in our bedroom too...I love it most days, but am thinking of....well, you know...
ReplyDeleteBe blessed,
Susan
It's beautiful Jennifer! I love your bed!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful my friend! It turned out great! You did a good job!
ReplyDeleteMove over, Martha Stewart!! We have a new decorator in the house!!
ReplyDeleteJenn, it looks BE-U-TIFUL!! You did a wonderful job.
I do believe we have the same bed.-- or pretty darn close!
oh it looks awesome and so bright! You really opened it up! I love the blue.
ReplyDeleteYes, we enjoyed it. It was a two hour wait in the car, and a one hour wait if you stood in line.
I wouldn't wait that long again but I'm sure it'll be better once people get used to it.
That looks so inviting and relaxing... you did a wonderful job!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you for posting both your before and after pictures. I was contemplating whether I wanted to paint my master bedroom, because like you, I wanted a 'spa like' feel to my room. After all, we spend 1/3 of our lives there.
After some consideration yesterday I was puzzled by whether our darker wood furniture would blend well with blue and decided to put it off.
Then I saw your after pictures and fell in love with your colors. Same before color for me and same dark wood furniture so you have inspired me and given me hope. I will do my before and after pics when I finish and send them along to you!

We just painted our bedroom too. It's amazing how one of the most important rooms - where a husband and wife spend time together - get's left behind a lot of times. Glad to see you took the time to make it special!
It's beautiful...like right out of Martha Stewart magazine. Great job!
