We have heard and probably taught our children this little pre-school song. But...are we living a life that we would be proud to have our children imitate? Even, when we don't think they are watching us. It is not just the things that they see at school, at play or living in this world, it is just as important what they see at home...in us.
Be careful little ears what you hear
Oh, the innocence of a child and path that they take in life can be determined by how we act as parents...when their looking and when you think they aren't.
Are you the type of role model that you want your son or daughter to grow up to be like?
PAUSE MY MUSIC FIRST BEFORE VIEWING!
I think of the old adage "more is caught than taught". So often, we tell our children "Do as I say." But they aren't doing what we say because we aren't doing it either. Rather, they end up doing what we are doing (instead of what we're saying) Putting it into perspective, I can think of telling my son to guard against his anger. Then I lose my temper because a car pulls out in front of me, causing me to slam on my brakes. How come I didn't guard my temper when I expect him to do so?
ReplyDeleteYou're so right. The example of our actions speaks louder than any words!!
Have a wonderful day. And, again, thank you for the award.
Blessings,
Patti
This is powerful.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Must be careful...
ReplyDeleteYou are always so creative. I don't know how you come up with these things, but great post as always! I can't make your music stop playing but I appreciate the reminder just the same. I'll try again later.
ReplyDeleteNice post... We always sang this song at school to remind my students that the Lord God above is looking everything we are doing. It's a nice reflection for adults to. God Bless!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great video. I'd love to say that I am the poster parent for living a righteous life before my kids, but that is not the case. There have been moments in my parenting that I have prayed the Lord would take from their memories.
ReplyDeleteYet, the Lord has kept me humble through those not so perfect times.
I pray my legacy is a blessing to my kids when all is said and done.
